Brighton Wedding Photography
Here is one of the first ever weddings I photographed on my own back in 2010. It was the beautiful and fun wedding of Josh and Lucy at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
The ceremony was in The Red Drawing Room, a stunning little room for about 50 people. An intimate, warm atmosphere for the lovely couple and their family and friends.
I just love how happy Lucy looks in these pictures. Couldn’t help but smile behind my camera.
After the ceremony we took a few photos on our way to the Music Room.
Quite a few stunning spots for photos at the Royal Pavilion!
From the Pavilion, the whole wedding party took a bus back to Lucy’s parents’ for the reception.
…and on the way, we stopped at The Band Stand for a couple of photos. It was a beautiful, sunny day.
I liked this following photo at the time, but now that I have more experience as a wedding and portrait photographer, I would be more careful with direct sunlight… but I still like this photo for the emotion in it… such beautiful, uninhibited happiness – love it!
Back on the bus and onto the beautifully decorated marquee for the wedding reception.
After the canapés and drinks, I asked Lucy and Josh to step to the side with me so that I could take a photo of their rings. And right after, I captured the next two photos as the couple were just enjoying a quiet moment with each other, just the two of them.
It had been such an emotional day; Lucy and Josh hadn’t seen each other much leading to the wedding as Josh was in the army, so it was a rare moment that they had together away from other people. I showed Lucy the photo on the left (above) on the back of my camera and Lucy cried, she loved it so. I still keep in touch with Lucy and Josh every now and then, and I’m hoping to see their first born child this year if they have time to visit Brighton!
