Wired Sussex hired me to do event photography at their Brighton Summer Meetup again this year. It’s always a pleasure to shoot Wired Sussex events, whether it’s their relaxed networking events or workshops and talks, or Open Studios during Brighton Digital Festival.
The Summer Meetups are always fun, but this year it was especially good for some reason. Perhaps because it’s been such a rubbish summer so far, but on the day of the event it was warm and almost sunny! At least at the beginning of the evening when everyone turned up and registered.
The staff of Wired Sussex are always there to talk to people and introduce people to each other. Although it looks like they are completely ignoring Mr Hotdog!
The summer drinks are always full of friendly business people in good spirits. At least when I join them with my camera.
They do seem to have a great time while I’m not right next to them, too.
There was a warm welcome speech by Wired Sussex Managing Director Phil Jones. I think he was in especially jolly mood this time – perhaps he had had a drink after the previous event he was talking at (which I also photographed).
Sadly the events manager Laura is leaving Brighton and going back to Cornwall, so this was her last summer event at Wired Sussex.
The networking (not working) fun carried on till late.
Here are some of the Wired Sussex bunch – you can see they are the kind of people who create wonderful events with an inclusive, friendly vibe.
