Pre-wedding Photo Shoot at Weybridge Register Office

First time for everything! I had a brilliant day on Tuesday – just because I found out that the couple whose wedding I’m going to photograph this Sunday is absolutely lovely! Kate and James booked me to be their wedding photographer about a year ago, but we weren’t able to arrange to meet up for a pre-wedding photo shoot (which is included in all my full day wedding photography packages) before this, so we agreed that I would attend their registry office wedding ceremony instead. The couple did the legal part first, and on Sunday  – at their ‘proper’ wedding – they will have a blessing in a chapel.

It was a small, intimate little ceremony with both sets of parents only. The celebrant (is that the correct word?) was great – very relaxed, friendly and said some wonderful things to the couple. She was probably the most warm-hearted celebrant I have come across at a registry office in all my years of being a wedding photographer.

And there was a lot of laughter during the ceremony. I have a funny feeling that this is going to be a fantastic wedding that will be a joy to photograph. People make the wedding, not the venue or the food or the dress or anything material. Saying that, this wedding will be at Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa in West Sussex, so the venue is actually lovely, but you know what I mean. It is such a privilege to meet wonderful people and to be able to help them have beautiful memories from their wedding day captured in photographs for ever. This is why I love my work so much.
