I was doing some housekeeping on my photo archives yesterday and I came across some photos I took as a second shooter at a wedding in Seaford back in 2009. Before I started photographing weddings as the main photographer, I worked as a second photographer at a number of weddings. This was one of the first ones:

I remember how nervous I was… and compared to now, I didn’t really know what I was doing.

Looks like I was drawn to reportage style wedding photography right from the beginning – always looking to capture interesting moments during the day, rather than taking posed photos.

This is a lovely first kiss… overshadowed only by the registrar with the antennae…

So that was it – one of my first weddings as the second photographer. Little did I know back then how much I would grow to love photographing weddings!
